Equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) are integral to Oxford’s mission and success as a university. The strength of our research and teaching, and the impact of our engagement with the world, are secured on the foundations of the culture and community we build together.
Our vision for Oxford is of a collegiate University where everyone belongs and is supported to succeed. We strive to be a leader on equality, diversity and inclusion in society. The Collegiate University EDI Strategic Plan 2024-27 articulates our ambitions for achieving this vision. It builds on our existing efforts and the great range of initiatives being conducted across Divisions; Gardens, Libraries and Museums; University Administration and Services; and our colleges.
In advancing this work we will focus on four key objectives relating to our culture, our diversity, our work and our leadership – with accompanying measures of progress and targets. We will be guided by the values of curiosity, community, courage and excellence and by our belief that a commitment to equality and diversity goes hand in hand with a commitment to academic freedom and free speech.
Students, staff, alumni and our partners are invited to join us in our renewed efforts to promote and model equality, diversity and inclusion. We will be formally launching the strategy in October 2024. If you have any questions or comments on the strategy, please contact equality@admin.ox.ac.uk
