It is just over a year since nearly 9,000 staff gave their feedback in the Staff Experience Survey 2023.
Your feedback provides vital insight which helps us to understand what we do well and how we can improve. At an institutional level, this has informed key projects including the Pay and Conditions review, the development of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, the Wellbeing Strategy, and the work of Professional Services Together. It also continues to inform the development of the Academic Career and Reward Framework project as well as many other projects.
Where to view the results
You can find out more about the Staff Experience Survey, view the results and access resources to support the use of the data in turning insights into action on our Staff Experience Survey webpages. The survey results are also available by specific groups, such as major job role, carer responsibility, gender or disability on our Staff Experience Survey Results page (behind SSO).
Some examples of where your feedback is shaping action
Across departments and divisions, a range of excellent work is being carried out to address priority areas raised through your feedback, including:
- improved wellbeing and workload support through broader engagement of wellbeing groups; the prioritisation of departmental resources to improve efficiency; adopting MyMynd to support mental health and wellbeing;
- targeting bullying and harassment through bystander training and internal communications;
- improving personal and career development support through greater use of internal secondments; bi-monthly lunch & learns in HR; improving digital skills; improved support and development for Principal Investigators; and
- demonstrating leadership engagement by broadening opportunities for staff to have a voice through committees; and leadership commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion with a view to improving research culture through the appointment of EDI champions.
