I have always been vocal for women’s rights and always considered myself as an LGBT+ Ally. Thanks to my experience along different feminist grassroot groups, I learnt that “the personal is political”.
It was thanks to a former HR Officer at the School of Global and Area Studies, who was an ally, that I found out what was behind the Ally logo she showed in her signature. I consider extremely positive to be an LGBT+ Ally and to flag the message within the University.
Diversity is a key concept and support is still needed at any level. I think it is important to be visible in order to promote positive changes and to let anyone struggling to be themselves know that they are not alone. I am very proud and happy for the training I made, new ideas, new knowledge and insights that help me to support others in my workplace.
