There is often a lot of noise around the LGBT+ community from the media but I was interested in becoming an LGBT+ Ally as I believe in controlling what you can and working to foster safe spaces within whatever environment you are in to ensure that everyone can live and thrive as themselves. Becoming an LGBT+ Ally is not only useful for building an awareness of the challenges the LGBT+ community can face but also in practical suggestions on how better to support our LGBT+ staff and students.
